Every year, the Festival dell'Economia intends to give a Jean-Paul Fitoussi Seminar on broad-ranging topics. The aim, in the spirit of the late French economist, is to help determine what policies and reforms may be necessary to make modern economies more inclusive, not by sacrificing growth but by channelling it into more environmentally friendly and fairly distributed well-being. This year, the Seminar will be held by Joseph Stiglitz, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2001 who has been at the centre of international debate on the questions tackled in the Fitoussi seminars for years.
