He is McCormack Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In 2014 he was President of the American Finance Association. In July 2015 he became Director of the Stigler Center at the University of Chicago. His research interests range from corporate governance and financial development to political economy and the economic effects on culture. He is the author of a large number of publications in the main economic and financial journals. He has published very successful books: Salvare il capitalismo dai capitalsiti, scritto assieme a Raghuram Rajan, Einaudi (2004) and A Capitalism for the People. Recapturing the Lost Genius of American Prosperity, Basic Books (2012).
