Palazzo Calepini, currently serving as the headquarters for Fondazione Caritro, dates back to the late 16th century and was built at the behest of the noble Calepini family from the Giudicarie valleys. Between 1823 and 1844, Palazzo Calepini served as the seat of the Prince Bishops of Trento. In 1999, the building was acquired by the foundation to be used as their institutional headquarters.

Flavio Deflorian is a full professor and Rector of the University of Trento. He is a member of the Board of Directors of FBK and of the Supervisory Board of SMACT. He has more than 200 scientific publications and numerous international research projects to his credit.

In 1995, he founded Optoi, an Italian high-tech company that produces microchips and microelectronic sensors.

Graduated in Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia University. Expert in advanced digital technologies (blockchain and generative AI), she has led transformations across sectors, including as CEO of the State Mint and Polygraphic Institute. She is CEO of Barzanò e Zanardo, sits on Banca Mediolanum’s board, and chairs Fondazione VRT.

Ferruccio Resta is Full Professor of Applied Mechanics at Politecnico di Milano, where he also served as Rector. He currently holds top-level positions in key institutions for innovation and research and plays an active role in the industrial community and Italian social landscape.
