Lawyer, Dr.h.c., professor at the Universities of St. Gallen, Zurich and Insubria, expert at international and Swiss public bodies for anti-money laundering, anti-corruption and international criminal and tax cooperation. As Public Prosecutor in Lugano, he has promoted proceedings against economic crime of an international nature.
A magistrate since 1981, he served for 29 years at the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, focusing on mafia-related crimes, corruption, and tax offenses. Later, as Deputy Prosecutor in Brescia, he coordinated investigations into fuel fraud and waste trafficking. Since January 2018, he has led the Trento Prosecutor’s Office.
Overlooking Piazza Dante and standing opposite Trento's train station, the building is a stone’s throw from the historic centre. This building was built between 1958-65 as part of a project by Trentino architect Adalberto Libera (1903-1963), a leading figure in Italian rationalist architecture.
